I've made an effort to try 1 new ssh BBS a week in recent months. Frankly, most make critical mistakes with initial landing and onboarding experience.

The good news is that simply by *not* doing all the *obvious* mistakes or UX antipatterns the ssh BBS medium *can* kick butt -- with tons of attractive traits, imo, that standout in the online dystopia that is the web of 2026

This archive grows because people volunteer, in two ways:

📼 Recovering — turning a raw off-air VBI capture (usually from an old VHS tape) into a clean T42 file.

🖊️ Restoring — fixing up pages that came out of that recovery a bit worse for wear, to match what was broadcast.
